The flotation froth is a three-phase system. The frother concentrates at the interface of water and air bubbles, forming an envelope around the bubbles, which prevents them from colliding or touching. Frothers also lower the surface tension of the water.

view more2011914 · This review looks at each of the four essential levels of process control (instrumentation, base level flotation control, advanced flotation control and optimising flotation control) and examines current and future trends within each sub-level.
view more2001111 · In the last ten years several studies have been carried out with the main goal to utilise imaging techniques to detect froth bubbles characteristics and to evaluate the flotation process performance.
view more202322 · Accurate and rapid identification of mineral foam flotation states can increase mineral utilization and reduce the consumption of reagents. The traditional flotation process concentrates on extracting foam features from a single-modality foam image, and the accuracy is undesirable once problems such as insufficient image clarity or poor foam …
view more20161219 · Froth Flotation Froth flotation is one of the most versatile and flexible of all mineral separation processes. Reasonable results are fairly easy to obtain but outstanding performance from a circuit requires constant attention and good understanding of the process and ore. Some of the variables that affect the operation and control of a flotation …
view more2024522 · Woodburn et al. (1992) proposed that optimal froth structures could be discerned through image analysis techniques, although the implementation of machine vision systems was hampered by the complexity of froth-related issues, particularly in image analysis and flotation aspects [ 1 ].
